It is said that when an elder in developing societies dies, a whole library dies with him or her

This is because of the nature of informal documentation of cultural heritage and Folklore which is kept by the old mentally.

In order to change this tragic loss of heritage, a download mechanism ought to be got through archiving such culture. This to is an African problem that has existed for decades. As a way to protect this loss, some archivists have tried to document this however a lot of work still needs to be done. It is also said that it is at the community level where the endangerment of music is most felt hence the need to safe guard it at the grassroots.
