Since the birth of Ecuador as a republic, many “colonization” and “development” projects for the Amazonian space have risen and fallen

This long process includes: evangelization, exploitation and violence towards the Amazonian Ancestral Peoples. A geography made of “inner frontiers”, a policy based on the binary: civilization / barbarism.

For many decades, the Ahuano River was a “frontier” between these projects and the Waorani Nation. What does the Ahuano River sound like? What is its flow telling us?
