Edgar Tetahiotupa

Edgar Tetahiotupa is originally from the island of Tahuata in Te Henua Enata (Marquesas Islands) and now lives on the island of Tahiti. He has a doctorate in social and cultural anthropology, is a linguist and a teacher. Edgar is a member of various local cultural associations, including the Asie-Imasie network, the CNEP (Centre des Nouvelles Études sur le Pacifique, EA 4242), Patutiki (protection and promotion of traditional Marquesan art, in particular the tattoo "Patutiki"), Haururu (Association for the protection, management and development of Papenoo, Tahiti), etc. He is passionate about Polynesian cultures and languages, the Polynesian vision of the world and the perception of this universe through the meaning of words, as well as the links that unite Polynesia with the rest of the world. He is also interested in the contacts between Polynesian languages and the French language, and their implications for teaching in French Polynesia.
