Anthropologist, Writer

Emily C. Donaldson is an anthropologist and collaborative writer who lives with her family, dog and small flock of chickens in Vermont. She has spent over twenty years working in the Marquesas Islands of French Polynesia and is the author of two books, Working with the Ancestors: Mana and Place in the Marquesas Islands (2019) and Marquesan for All (2024), in addition to many articles. She holds a BA in Anthropology and Archaeology from Harvard University, an MA in the Social Sciences from the University of Chicago, and a Ph.D. in Anthropology from McGill University.
