Nina Maghsoodloo
Sound artist, Researcher, Performer
Nina Maghsoodloo began her artistic journey learning to play the piano in her hometown of Tehran. After briefly exploring the visual arts, she continued her studies in France, first at the Conservatoire de Cachan and then at the Haute École des Arts du Rhin in Strasbourg, where she obtained a Diplôme National Supérieur Professionnel de Musicien and a Master's degree in performance. Nina won two prizes at Tehran's New Music Competition in piano solo and chamber music. She has collaborated with numerous artists, creators and ensembles in Europe and Iran. She was also a guest soloist with the Tehran New Music Orchestra and co-founded the AxisModula performance company. Her artistic work takes the form of transdisciplinary projects. The interpretation and creation of performative works, the repertoire of gesture and musical theater, and improvisation have gradually led her to cooperate with other artistic disciplines. Inspired by societal themes and keen to create links between her artistic expression and the human sciences, her projects explore issues such as identity, alterity and space.
