Advocate for Marquesan culture and environment

Tevahineviriura Debora Kimitete has lived in Tahioae on the island of Nuku Hiva in Te Henua Enata (Marquesas Islands) since 1981. Following in the footsteps of her late husband Lucien Kimitete, she has become one of the most committed figures in the Marquesas archipelago and a key player in the revival of the Marquesas. Passionate about protecting the environment and promoting Polynesian culture, particularly Marquesan, she is a member of several associations, including the Association for the protection of the Marquesas environment Te kua o te Henua Enana and the Association Te Hina O Motu Haka.
