We have never not been fed on our field trips. There is always an abundance of love in the villages. And food becomes an extended expression of this love.
The opportunity to see cross dressing dancers Chaina & Nisha, let us also get a closer look at the community celebrations in the village of Ajmeripura that was hosting a feast for all on the inauguration of a new Panchayat building.
As is customary, we filled our bellies with simple, delicious food this time too. The menu - dal, pooris, pakoras and a laddoo. Imagine hosting lunch and dinner for 5000 odd people. The energy is infectious. They feed you with lovely warm smiles. And you are free to help yourself to as many servings as you like. They had an entire room dedicated to just storing laddoos (an Indian sweet delicacy). Each laddoo made by hand. There are no machines at work here. Just human hands pouring in their magic.
