Vagné Lima

Vagné L. is a multimedia artist, musician, music producer (PRACATUM), cultural mobilizer and researcher based in Bahia - Brazil, dedicated to afrofuturist experimental art and technologies, web developer and designer. Founder of Muziek Mutanti NetLabel, an online producer of Brazilian Afro-indigenous sound art.
Lima is a member of the JACA Collective where he works in sociocultural mobilizations in peripheral communities in Salvador-Bahia-Brazil involving Afro-centered poetry, contemporary art, ancestry, musical production and meta-recycling, including the creation of non-occasional instruments, sculptures and sound installations.
With more than 100 experimental tracks in his portfolio since 2011, he collaborates with several artists in music production. He leads workshops on music production with Ableton Live, Building MIDI Controller Interfaces with Arduino, Web Radio and Video Synth LiveCoding. His work was recognized in projects such as Sarau Jaca de Poesia (Aldir Blanc Bahia Award 2021), the Vale do Dendê Audio Producers Incubator (Salvador-Bahia 2022), Metareciclarte Arte Todo Dia - (Bahia - 2023), Meditative Frequencies - 1st Prize Pretas Potências - Instrumental album - PretaHub (São Paulo - Brazil - 2023), creator of the sound exhibition Periferias Afro Experimentais (Bahia - Brazil 2023) and participant in the LABVERDE Artistic Residency - Ecologias Especulativas (Amazônia -Brazil - 2023).
