In the early dawn of the morning a Penan fisherman journey's home along the Tutoh River with his fresh catch

The pristine waters that flow in the protected areas of Mulu National Park are juxtaposed with a long shot of the fish taking their final breath.

When Mutang Tu'o travelled around the world in the 1990s, he spoke to global leaders about the devastation of logging and the experiences of his community. He described the destruction of his homelands and its effect on the Penan lives like being "a fish out of water".

Almost 40 years later -
... like a fish out of water ...
there's almost no forest.
- trying to breathe.
