We call him "Xiao Shu", which means little uncle or youngest uncle

He is the youngest of the brothers in this village. Currently, the village is one of the most remote in the commune, which consists of these brothers and their respective family branches. Xiaoshu likes to invite us to his home to sit and chat around the bonfire.

I remember the first time he invited me to visit his house, he explained how all the villagers participated in its construction, which made me understand why traditional houses were important to him or to others.

"I have night brothers, this village was owned by our grandfather before the PRC was established. You can see this board, it's huge, isn't it? Someone asked me to sell it to him for 10,000 RMB, but I refused."

Xiaoshu showed me the timber cut by his father, his grandfather and himself respectively, and I noticed the difference in harvesting methods, and it was apparently the large timber in the forest that diminished in Xiaoshu's generation.
