Everyone knows me here in this corner of Cirforco, I am called mama mapasa (the mother of the twins), my name is Kanku Gertride

I'm a widow, but I've always been allowed to plough the land to feed my children, without begging or prostituting myself.

I consider this a grace, a mission, because I look after a multitude of people, especially strangers. But today a lot of things are changing because of all the garbage being thrown into our workspaces, which is destroying our environment and making our products weak or of poor quality. So it's becoming difficult to meet our monthly needs, between feeding my children and paying the bills.
And now the government has come to privatize our spaces, making the situation even more complicated, so we have to leave.

But I continue to thank my work, my mission to take care of others through my work, because without it I would be a lost woman, and I hope that the future will be better and allow me to continue to take care of my environment, my family, and to pass on this care to our new generation.
